June 6, 2007 — Two new releases are coming your way from VLE Comics!
Herc Brown #0 marks the debut of this series about a kid from the inner city who finds out there’s more to his name than he ever realized.
Arkadian: No Witness introduces the recurring character of Arkadian, a hitman with a rather unworldly specialty.
Both premiere July 25, 2007 at San Diego Comic Con International.
May 21, 2007 — VLE Comics will be expanding its line of titles with a new graphic novel called Shan: Be My Hero, and has contracted up-and-coming ace writer Sean Taylor to handle scripting chores on the project.
Taylor writes Gene Simmons Dominatrix and the quarterly Gene Simmons House of Horrors comics by another publisher, and is also the creator of the Fishnet Angel: Jane Doe comic book miniseries.
Shan: Be My Hero is based on the short story "Be My Hero" by VLE’s own Stephen L. Antczak, available in his short story collection Daydreams Undertaken.
Shan: Be My Hero will be available in 2008.
May 15, 2007 — VLE Comics is proud to present a free, full-length comic book on its web site, VLEComics.com. This one-shot comic in black and white is an adaptation of the controversial Bram Stoker short story, Dracula's Guest.
On its first publication in 1914, the story was billed as "a hitherto unpublished episode from Dracula," cut due to the novel’s length. Most people today believe it to be instead a later addition to the Dracula mythos — though there are some who believe the story wasn't even written by Bram Stoker, but by his widow when she needed money!
May 14, 2007 — For the first time in the history of comic books and architecture a fictional city will be master-planned by professional architects and urban planners.
Quad City, the fictional setting for VLE Comics' Nightwolf, will be designed by award-winning architectural firm Studio Gang, the firm behind Zhong Bang Village in Shanghai and the fantastic 80-story Aqua Tower in Chicago. And Studio Gang principal architect Mark Schendel happens to be a comics fan!
The architects and planners of Studio Gang will ensure that Quad City exists not only as the setting for Nightwolf, but as a work of art in its own right.
